Sallie Martson

Professor and Director, UA Community and School Garden Program

Sallie Martson's aim in teaching the community and school garden workshop course is to link UA students to the low-income neighborhoods and schools where they might learn to support support community empowerment around gardens.  In one area of her research she asks the what can a garden do? This query is premised on the belief that gardens possess the potential to address in part the effects of structural inequality on being and learning as well as build new forms of collective action to undermine it.
